In order to give winter a strong hint that its presence was no longer wanted we created a morning based on the theme "Sun, Sea & Sand". We were lucky enough to be able to borrow a couple of inspirational pictures from the heritage collection - "Miramar" by Frank Martin and "Swimmer" by Gillian Pollard. As Miramar had a real 30s feel to it I added a soundtrack courtesy of Ambrose and his Orchestra. We listened to "Anything Goes" by Cole Porter and enjoyed reading the clever lyrics. So with brains well primed the group settled into that special rich creative silence and the local gulls arranged a fly-past with sound effects - most appropriate.
We also read a poem by Mary Oliver - The Summer Day.
Some wonderful writing was shared - as always - and our Segments Horde of Haiku is progressing well.
Next Segment Monday April 12th - Theme is Mystery
This is a really lovely blog and I have enjoyed reading the poems!
